Post Waxing

Post waxing:

I recommend that for the first 24 hours after your waxing that you avoid any heat treatments/activities for example sun beds, saunas, hot hot showers or baths. Gym sessions including hot yoga. Basically anything that is going to get you hot and sweaty!! as this will irritate the skin. Also avoid applying deodorant or perfumed lotions to the waxed areas.

Avoid ingrowing hairs by gently exfoliating the area after a couple of days, start twice weekly using a dry body brush, this can be done before you bath/shower when the skin and brush are both dry, I suggest this is done to stop a build-up of dry skin which can, in turn cause in growing hairs. Word of warning go gentle as excessive exfoliation can cause the opposite. After you bath/shower the use of a baby oil whilst still wet this will give a gentle moisturiser without all the chemicals.

Everyone reacts differently so if it is your first time please take precautions, you may experience heightened sensitivity in the area waxed for 24/48 hours after Apply a cold compress to soothe the skin if you experience sensitivity or irritation after your treatment. Baby nappy rash cream can help if particularly sensitive. If your skin is sensitive, waxing can result in minor outbreaks or rashes. If an infection occurs it should be checked by your general practitioner as soon as possible. Please ensure you take proper care of your skin following your wax treatment.

At The Waxing Table I ensure that no double dipping and strict sanitisation of all equipment is a must. I wear fresh disposable gloves for each client and all tweezers, scissors or equipment used is sterilised after each client so that no cross contamination occurs.
